Family Literacy Day and Family Literacy Week in Saskatchewan

January 27th is Family Literacy Day and January 26th to February 1st is Family Literacy Week in Saskatchewan!

This year’s theme for Family Literacy Day is “Take 20 in 2020,” which encourages families to take 20 minutes each day to make learning together a part of their daily routine.

The Sun West School Division is part of the West Central Literacy Committee (WCLC) that also includes Great Plains College, the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the Early Childhood Intervention Program and Regional Kids First. To celebrate Family Literacy Week the WCLC is hosting Family Game Days on January 31, 2020 at the Davidson Library from 2:00 – 4:00 pm; at the Centennial Library in Rosetown from 1:00 – 5:00 pm; and at the Kindersley Library from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.

Family literacy is learning that takes place within the family and includes parents, children, siblings, step-family, grandparents, caregivers, aunts, cousins, friends, neighbors and anyone else you think of as family.
