The Sun West Career Development Teacher Team

The decision as to what to do beyond high school is a difficult one. As a result, it is important to begin career planning early as it takes time to assess interests, research possibilities, develop skills, select electives, etc., in order to pave a path for the future.

To be effective in this process, a combination of parent, community, school and student involvement are critical. The Sun West Career Development Teacher team is here to help students with ever-changing conditions in the job market and will provide information to help with the life/career planning process.

The Career Development Teachers look forward to working with students in all aspects of Career Development. A few areas of focus include:

  • Grade 9 Career Education (and other Middle Level Career Education Courses)
  • Grade 9 and Beyond Transition Plan* Grade 10 Employability Skills Portfolios (Grade 10 through 12)
  • Grade 11 Assessment Inventories* Grade 11 and 12 Individual and Group Career Counselling
  • Career and Work Exploration (including off-site work based placements for specific Sun West DLC courses)
  • Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship Program
  • Apprenticeship Credits - Off-Site Work-based Training Opportunities in conjunction with DLC Classes
  • Take Our Kids To Work

Sun West 2020 ROADS TO SUCCESS Virtual Career Fair

The Sun West Career Development Team along the Sun West Student Career Fair Planning Team are happy to launch the 2020 ROADS TO SUCCESS Virtual Career Fair! This online resource presents some of the information that would have been part of the 2020 Roads to Success Career Fair that was unfortunately postponed this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
