On February 25, the Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting. Highlights included:

The Board announced that the Darryl Seguin, the Superintendent of the Livingstone Range School Division in Alberta, will be the new Sun West Director of Education, starting on August 1, 2025. Seguin was part of a highly competitive field of candidates and will succeed Vicki Moore, who is retiring this year. Click here for more information.

Division Office staff were introduced to Trustees and the Sun West Organizational Chart was reviewed.

There was a report on progress in developing the2025-26 School Division Draft Budget.

Trustees voted to select winners in the Sun West Student Art Contest.

The Trustees joined hundreds of students and staff around Sun West by wearing pink for Pink Shirt Day.

Following the meeting, Trustees held their annual liaison meeting with the Sun West Teachers’ Association (SWTA).
