On April 11, 2025, Grades 7-12 students from across Sun West School Division and beyond will travel to Loreburn Central School to participate in the annual Sun West Student Leadership Conference. This year's theme is Carnival of Dreams, which will explore ways that students can dream big, set big goals and achieve these goals!

The conference will feature awesome keynotes, amazing workshops, and exciting entertainment! This conference is designed for students by students and will be unforgettable.

Keynote: Chris Gray

Chris Gray is a professional wrestler who fights under the name Cody Deaner. He is a success story who engages students using personal storytelling. He inspires them to think big and work hard to achieve their goals. Click here for more information on Chris.


Workshops: Yin with Yoga Bird

Sun West Learning Consultant Karen McConnell will lead students through a gentle yoga stretch to move their body and calm their minds in the best possible way. Participants will discover where music, gentle stretching, and mindfulness meet.

Game On: Cheers, Games & Fundraisers

This interactive, student-led session will focus on fresh and exciting ways to enhance school spirit. Participants will learn, laugh, and leave with a playbook of fun strategies to make school events more successful and memorable.

Workshops: Darryl Elaschuck

Darryl Elaschuck speaks on topics related to Sports Psychology and developing a positive mind set. He explains different types of leadership and how people react to each approach.

Workshops: Spark Play

Using LEGO as a tool, Lara Schroeder of Spark Solutions, unlocks leadership superpowers such as collaboration and team building. This presentation is sponsored by the Prairie Central District for Sport, Culture, and Recreation and Sask Lotteries.

Workshops: The Art of Pysanky

Learn the centuries old art form of Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter Eggs) using beeswax, vibrant dyes, and traditional folk patterns. This session provides step-by-step training in creating stunning, hand-decorated eggs that participants can take home.

Entertainment: Corry J

Guaranteed to get every single person dancing, Corry J will bring the infectious energy and big screen excitement that has made him a legend and conference favourite! Click here for more information on Corry J.



Workshops: Circus Skills

Learn how to juggle and so much more! This session teaches participants fundamental circus skills such as balancing, coordination, focus, and perseverance. Have a blast and impress your friends with your new skills.
