Overview
Sun West encourages all Sun West students, staff, and community members to submit pictures that reflect activities in Sun West schools and communities that embody Achievement, Engagement, Wellbeing, Success for All, or Learning Together. Pictures will be selected to be published as banners on the homepage of the Sun West website.

Eligibility
The Contest is open to all Sun West students, staff, and community members including parents, grandparents, caregivers, and other family.
Criteria
- The Contest runs from September 1, 2024, to June 13, 2025.
- Submitted pictures must be taken with a horizontal/landscape orientation and be approximately 2000 pixels long X 1000 pixels high.
- Students featured in pictures must have Permission to Publish forms on file at their schools.
- Any submitted pictures may also be used elsewhere on the Sun West website, social media or other Sun West publications.
- Submitted pictures must include a brief explanation of what is going on in the picture, when it was taken and other relevant information.
- Pictures will be judged to the extent that they epitomize one or more of Sun West’s priorities of Achievement, Engagement, and Wellbeing or its vision statement of Success for All or its mission statement of Learning Together.
Prizes
- A winning submission will be selected each month. Each winner receives a $100 gift card, and their picture will be featured as the website homepage banner.
- Runner ups whose pictures will also appear as banners on the homepage receive a $25 gift card.
Submission and Deadlines
- Submissions must be in jpeg format and attached to an email sent to Mike Fedyk at mike.fedyk@sunwestsd.ca.
- The deadline for submissions for each month is the last day of the second week of that month. These are the dates:
September 13,
October 11,
November 15,
December 13,
January 17,
February 14,
March 14,
April 11,
May 16,
June 13.
