The annual Davidson School Heritage Fair took place on January 29.
Prior to Heritage Fair day, all Grade 8 students worked hard to create colourful and informative displays highlighting an aspect of Canadian history whether that be national, provincial, regional, local or family-based. These displays required students to do a great deal of research and find creative ways to explain their topics, both in their displays and when speaking to other Davidson students and staff on Heritage Fair Day.
As well, during the Heritage Fair, there were several judges, who used a detailed criteria to score every display and presentation. The judges’ task was made very difficult by the high caliber of the displays and the amazing job the students did explaining their topics to their audiences.
In the end the top five Heritage Fair displays and presenters were (left to right in the picture at the top of page):
1. Porscha Tomyn – Great Canadian Baking
2. Sloane Willner – Luck, Skills and Miracles: How Two People Survived a Plane Crash
3. Jayne Shaw – Chanie Wenjack
4. Eva Gust – Nursing Sisters
5. Mary Tinder – The 60s Scoop
